From 3-10 November, Professor Evelyn Welch, Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Bristol, Professor Brian Squire, Dean of the University of Bristol Business School, and a delegation of Bristol staff embarked on a journey to China holding various events including alumni receptions, China Graduation and meetings with local universities and businesses building new partnerships for the university.
Alumni receptions were held in Shenzhen, Shanghai and Beijing with over 500 Bristol alumni in attendance. These receptions were an opportunity to reconnect with the University and network with fellow alumni.
During his first visit to the region as Dean, Professor Squire shared exciting updates on the new University of Bristol Business School’s strategy and upcoming initiatives at alumni receptions and community dinners in Shanghai and Beijing. He also hosted a reception for prospective and current applicants in Beijing.
Reflecting on the trip, Professor Squire remarked:
“This visit was an incredible opportunity to meet our talented alumni community, share the exciting vision for the new Business School and hear their inspiring stories of life at Bristol and beyond.”
We extend a special thank you to alumni who contributed to making this trip a success by attending the receptions and dinners, participating in the alumni panel at the applicant reception, recording personal stories of their time at Bristol and volunteering at the various events. Your involvement was invaluable.
